The work of historians is often newsworthy and of great interest to a wide section of the public, but many of us lack the confidence to promote ourselves, our work and our industry to the wider world or generally engage with the media.

The masterclass will be delivered by Wendy McGuinness of Bentley McGuinness Media and will be tailored specifically for professional historians.

The masterclass will give you:

  • increased confidence in dealing with the media and delivering messages that resonate
  • a chance to practice in front of a camera
  • the ability to contribute to key message development when issues break – in a timely fashion
  • a deeper understanding of the unique demands of the media, and
  • a skill set that you can apply in other communication situations

The masterclass will be held in a supportive and friendly environment with time to practice and hone your skills.
